Ryan took over the ownership of Bernash Residential Care Home in May 2016. Prior to arriving at the Home, he worked in the NHS Hospital & Community Care sectors for over 20 years and has led both strategically and operationally in various settings including Corporate Finances. He is a trained Psychiatric Nurse and operated clinically across two large London Based NHS Trusts, where he attained a Senior Clinical Band 7 position within three years. He worked closely with various Consultant Psychiatrists, Registrars, Psychologists, Social Workers, Nurses and Commissioners and this led to him being handpicked by Corporate Management to transfer his expertise into the community to work alongside a group of GPs in West London to set up and structure the provision of care for drug and alcohol misusers. After training a number of GPs in the various aspects of medical detoxes and the principles of effective treatment methods from both drugs and alcohol, the components of evidence-based comprehensive drug addiction treatment and the management of substance use monitoring, Ryan moved into the social care sector to learn the trade from his parents before operating autonomously in Bristol.
